3 Tier Wedding Cake - Wedding Cake Sizes
by Claire
I am planning on making a 3 tier wedding cake, but I don’t know how big the wedding cake boards need to be. I have a stand which is metal and joined together at the back and has three open circles (flat hoops) for the cakes to sit on. I am wondering what size should I make the cakes relative to the size of these rings and also what size should the cake boards be presuming I need them to balance the cakes on the rings. Thanks so much. Claire.
For greater stability, especially when cutting the cake, affix the cake boards to the metal hoops with non-slip strips. If your cake stand did not come with strips you can get these from your local cake shop or craft supply store. Alternatively pose for the picture with the stand, but remove the cakes from the stand when cutting. Best of luck. ![]() Image credits: You'll find 100's of great value wedding suppliers in our wedding directory. Start your search now... |
