What’s New At Cheap Wedding Success

Since the last issue of Cheap Wedding Tips, there have been lots of new articles added to the site. Here’s a round up of them:

Free Wedding Invitation Templates and Instructions
If you’re thinking of making your wedding invitations, there are simple, pretty design ideas in this article. I created all of them myself and if I can do them then you can do them! The designs are intended to be replicated easily so you won’t have to spend all your weekends doing them and there are step by step instructions for each. So why not try making one?

When I made my wedding invitations, I found MadaboutCards.com had a great range of cards and card making accessories. They have a huge selection of colours, papers and envelopes all of which are high quality and great value. I got everything I needed from them - and they’re really nice people too.

New Resources Section
There’s a new resources section that gives you details of all the specific suppliers mentioned throughout the site. It’s a quick, easy way to find a supplier or source of information. There’s also a books section with some lots of helpful books to help make your wedding planning easy.

Wedding Reception Decoration Ideas
It’s wedding season and some you will probably be thinking about your wedding venues and how you’re going to decorate them. You’ve probably been hunting around for those last minute ideas on how to make your venue look that little bit more special. From balloons to bunting, there’s an idea here for everyone.

Just one thing, if you’ve got kids at your wedding, then make sure there is something to occupy them. Crayons, colouring pads or small toys are a great way to ensure they keep quiet during the important bits.

Food For Thought
For those brides doing their own catering, there are two new articles to help you. The first covers off easy wedding food for a 50 person buffet. There’s a menu plan, tips and essentials you need to know if you’re doing your own wedding food.

The second article then gives you all the recipes for the dishes in the sample menu – all of which are so easy. Just a couple of tips though:
- make sure you have enough cold storage space, the last thing you need is people getting sick from food poisoning
- prepare in advance so there’s less to do on the day and you can relax
- get your friends and relatives to help out – share the load!

My bible for catering for large numbers was Good Housekeeping. The book has an easy scaling guide for catering for large numbers as well as loads of lovely recipes. It’ll also be a handy companion in your kitchen in the future.

Need A Cheap Bridal Bouquet?
With bridal bouquets often topping over £75 it can push your flower budget over the top, but there are simple ways to save some money whilst still making a statement with your bouquet. These tips and ideas for cheap bridal bouquets will help you lower your costs.

5 Ways To Save On... Your Drinks Bill

Here’s my top five ways to save on your drinks:

1. Use a bar. You can control how much you want to spend and when you’ve reached your limit, the guests can buy their own drinks.

2. Do your homework on the corkage costs. There’s no point buying cheap booze, only to find that when the corkage is added, there’s no saving on the venue’s drinks.

3. Try to negotiate your corkage or think creatively. If the corkage is too high, then use larger bottles of wine or champagne. You’ll still pay for the same corkage prices.

4. Go on a booze cruise and you’ll save a packet (just make sure your corkage costs don’t push up your budget).

5. The wider the choice of drinks you serve, the higher your costs will be. So streamline with a signature drink. Try a cocktail or punch, or just wine or beer and stick with these all night.
