Tips to keep your wedding package costs downYou’ve chosen your hotel, you know which all inclusive wedding package you want and you’re ready to go, but still you’re finding that the costs are still coming in over your budget. The only way to cut those costs is to make some changes. Here are few ideas to help ease your all-inclusive wedding package budget… • Use your hotel wedding planner to manage your budget. Give them the amount and ask them to recommend ways of sticking to it. You’ll be surprised at what they can come up with. • Limit the number of guests you invite to the wedding breakfast and then invite other guests to the evening only. By reducing the number of heads for food, your costs will decrease dramatically. • The shorter the day, the less you have to pay for, so consider having a late marriage ceremony with an evening reception. • A seated buffet instead of a full silver service meal is a dramatic way to cut your wedding catering costs and so your overall reception costs. • Many weddings have a sit down meal in the afternoon or early evening, followed by a buffet for the evening guests. There’s always plenty left over after these later buffets, so perhaps consider reducing the amount of food served or not having one at all! • Your bar bill will be using a considerable amount of your budget. Consider only providing drinks during the meal and for the toast. If you’re still set on providing a bar, perhaps limit it to a set amount of money or maybe just offering beer and wine. This will keep your drinks bill in check. • Choose a Cava for the toast as it’s a quarter of the price of Champagne. Most hotels have a good selection of sparkling wines and a Spanish cava is a good bet – and your guests probably won’t even notice the difference. • Supplying your own booze during the meal is a good way to cut your costs, but you will get charged corkage. Check the corkage rates before taking up this option. • Discuss reducing the number of staff waiting on during the reception. Perhaps your ushers are willing to serve drinks and make sure glasses are topped up? If so, then you cut your staffing costs. Don't forget, you can also look at how to save on your wedding catering and wedding decorations too.
