Bars in the City of London

Most of the bars in the City are closed at the weekend as there's no one around. So I thought I'd find out if its possible to hire them out for private parties. As it happens they do and they make really good cheap venues!
I've found a little gem in St Johns Square in Farringdon. It's a lovely, roomy contemporary bar called The Priory that will easily take 150 people standing and milling about. They hire out their venue for free, but you've got to spend £1,500 on food and drinks.
I'm thinking of having my reception there next summer. As they're located in off the main road in a little square, we can spread out onto the cobbled area. It'll be lovely!
I'm not sure whether to set a bar tab to my budget, then if we exceed that the guests can pay for themselves. Alternatively, we could fund it all ourselves.
Anyway, I reckon there are loads of bars in the City of London that would also do the same. So if you live in London and want something a bit different, then look at the City for a cheap venue.
