It's understandable why many brides are choosing to have a beach wedding abroad - beautiful surroundings, stress free planning and most importantly, one of the most affordable ways to get married.

In most cases, you simply find a wedding planning company you want to go with and they'll do the rest. They can organise as much or as little as you want them to. The more they do, the more you'll pay - but usually their services are no more than £500-£600 and include all the essentials like legal services, flowers, cake and champagne toast.

So once you've made up your mind that you're a beach wedding abroad is for you, you just need to decide where to go. Here's a round up of the best beaches for getting married:

Beach weddings in Cyprus

Cyprus has over 300 days of sunshine per year and miles of beautiful coastline and beaches, making it ideal for a beach wedding abroad. It's also close to home, you can married any time of year and their laws are based on the English system, making getting hitched really easy.

Dive into the Maldives

Set in the backdrop of the Indian Ocean, the exotic islands of the Maldives harbour beautiful sun kissed beaches - perfect for your beach wedding abroad. Why not tuck yourself away on your own luxurywater villa and simply relax while you plan the finer details of your wedding from your deck? If you fancy something more active, the Maldives has some of the best diving in the world where the coral reefs are filled with tropical fish. Perfect and picturesque.

Dreamy beaches in St Lucia

A stunning island in the Caribbean is often said to be created just for romantics. Pristine, palm fringed beaches, soft tropical air and plantations make this a great location to get married and honeymoon. With the addition of exclusive resorts, including Sandals, you can start off married life in style.

The beauty of the Bahamas

Famous for its turquoise waters and white beaches, the Bahamas are an idyllic setting for any wedding. With lots of influence from the US, it's a very easy culture and the people are friendly. Again, there are a number of exclusive resorts so can ensure you have some all-inclusive luxury.

The great thing about the Caribbean is you could island hop to get some privacy from your family and friends. You could get married in St Lucia, but honeymoon in the Bahamas. A great way to experience the different islands too.

The white sand resorts of the Gulf Coast offer picture perfect beaches. Dotted along the coastline are plenty of resorts suitable for a beach wedding. Plus, since it's the US, it's friendly, easy to travel to and your money will go a lot further with the strong British pound.

Like the Caribbean, it's best to avoid Florida in our Autumn.

Watch the sun set in Sri Lanka

Just off the tip of India, Sri Lanka is a magical place. Blessed with beaches galore to get married on and lots of amazing places to visit afterwards, Sri Lanka is a place to experience exotic culture.

On your honeymoon, enjoy Ayurvedic spa treatments, tour the hill stations, explore the rainforest and visit an elephant orphanage. One of my favourite destinations.

Fiji

About as far away from the UK as you can get, Fiji offers hundreds of islands, each with clear waters, beautiful beaches and an amazing culture - plus sunshine almost all year round.

Also in the South Pacific is Tahiti, where you'll find the world famous honeymoon destination of Bora Bora - the perfect romantic hideaway for your marriage.

Avoid Fiji during our winter months as the cyclones hit hard! Whichever destination you choose for your beach wedding abroad, you'll have a fabulous time.
