Tips for Your
Beach Wedding Apparel
Even with beach wedding apparel there are things to look out for. From transportation of your wedding dress to being careful in the sun and heat, there is plenty to consider.
Follow these simple tips for your beach wedding apparel and things should go a little smoother.
- Check with your airline about where and how they will transport your wedding gown. These days most airlines transport the dress in the luggage haul, not in the passenger cabin. So make sure you check and package it up correctly.
- Consider weight restrictions. with your luggage. Again, check this with your airline and pack appropriately, or you'll be stung for lots of cash at the airport.
- Hang your wedding dress up as soon as you can when you arrive at your beach wedding destination.
- To get rid of creases in your dress, hang it in a steamy bathroom until the creases drop out. DON’T IRON YOUR OWN DRESS.
- Wait to have your dress cleaned until you return home.
- It’s going to be hot, so dress appropriately on your wedding day. You won’t want to be sweating like mad and staining your dress!
- Don’t forget to wear sunscreen. You’re going to be out in the sun for a long time and you don’t want to look like a lobster on your wedding photos!
- Take care when applying the sunscreen as it may stain your dress!
- Being in the sun for long periods of time is exhausting. Make sure you drink lots of water to keep at your best.
- Make sure you wear bug spray. A lumpy, itchy bride isn’t going to be very attractive on their wedding night! ;o)
- Sand gets very hot in the sun. Watch out if you’re planning on going bare foot. I would strongly recommend flip flops, pumps or sandals.
- Be careful with fresh flowers as the pollen may stain your dress or your groom’s attire. If you do get pollen on your clothes, rub it off gently with a DRY cloth – a wet cloth will cause it to stain.
