Bon Bon Favour Cone

My Favours!
These favour cones are really easy to make and very cheap too! You literally get a piece of A6 paper, roll it into a cone and secure it with glue.
I used a pretty glittery vellum paper which had a lovely floral pattern. It was from my local art shop and cost 79p per sheet. I’ve managed to make 6 cones from each sheet. I’ve got 65 guests coming and so I’ve used 11 sheets.
To secure it, I’ve used UHU as it’s quite a strong glue. It is a bit stringy though, so you need to be careful. You’ve also got to hold the paper in place while the glue dries – this only takes about 20 seconds, otherwise the paper just pops off.
I’ve then use placed bon-bons inside. I love bon-bons, they’re my favourite traditional sweets. I picked up a 2kg box in my local cash and carry which will be enough for all the favours.
I got my girlfriends around to help me make them up. We were done in a hour or two and were helped along by a couple of glasses of wine – it was really good fun. I’ve got them stored in my bedroom, ready for the wedding in August. We’ll make them up on the day when we do our table decorations, etc – otherwise the bon-bons just roll out all over the place!
You could also use doilees to make the cone, wrapping paper, card or paper that you’ve printed a design on. You could also use different types of sweets. Bon-bons are quite heavy and therefore expensive, I imagine you could pick some other sweets or traditional sugared almonds quite cheap.
Roll on August!!!
