Cheap Civil Wedding Venue For 120-Plus?

by Robin
(Herts)

I'm looking for a cheap venue for a civil wedding ceremony followed by a reception in Kent. The problem is that we want to invite 120-130 guests.

We'd happily get married in a registry office and then move onto a local authority venue or similar for the reception – but unfortunately none of the registry offices in Kent can accommodate that many people! The only venues I've found so far that can cater for weddings that big are at the luxury end of the scale.

If anyone's got any suggestions I'd be interested to hear them. We'd be looking at tying the knot in February or March next year.

Answer:

I’m no expert when it comes to wedding venues in Kent as I’m not from that area! However, I’ve done a little search on the General Register Office site that lists all the venues that hold marriage licences in the country. You can search by county and so I put in Kent. Here are the results of all venues in Kent.

Now, since you've been looking around in Kent, you may recognise some of them. You may also find a few surprises. And you may find venues that you can have your ceremony and your reception in that are fairly low cost.

If you want to do a search like that, visit the General Register Office site.

If you’re a local to Kent and can help out, then leave a comment below.

I hope that helps.

Nicola
