My Cheap Wedding Dress
With a £250 budget, I needed to find a cheap wedding dress for my wedding! I knew this would be a bit of challenge, so I set about finding
all the great places
to find cheap dresses.
A further challenge was that Stuart, my fiancé and I had been learning Argentine tango for a couple of years and we really wanted to do a tango for our first dance. There are loads of kicks and leg lifts in tango, so I needed a dress that would allow me this flexibility. We love the tango, so my dress had to fit around that too.
I had two options, either a short, knee length dress or a slinky number with a big split up the side. Being of a more modest nature, I decided to opt for a knee length dress.
They suit my body shape better and are a little more flattering on my wobbly bits! Luckily, opting for a shorter dress was also good for my budget. Quite simply less material equals less cost. It also gave the option of bridesmaid’s dresses and prom-style dresses – all of which come in white and other white/cream shades and best of all, they tend to be cheaper. In the end I found a vintage style dress from Monsoon for £225; it fitted both me, so no alterations needed, and my budget. The perfect wedding dress for me - I was quite chuffed with that.
