Ideas for Cheap Wedding Hair Accessories
There are plenty of options available for cheap wedding hair accessories. Whether you decide to make something yourself or would prefer a bit of bling, you'll want to look stunning. So here are some ideas to get you thinking and keep your budget in check.
First of all you need to decide whether or not you’re going to wear a veil. Once you’ve decided you can then think about your hair accessories. The general rule of thumb though is ‘less is more’.Hair accessories for brides without a veil Brides without a veil have a little more freedom and can go to town a bit more with their accessories. You could use feathers, diamante hairgrips, combs, headbands or a tiara to finish off your look. A bit of sparkle will go a long way. Flowers are also a popular option, whether fresh or made from fabric or paper, they look very feminine and pretty. Just attached them with grips or wire. For my wedding I didn't wear a wedding veil as I didn't think it would look right with my dress. Instead, I opted for a combination of a cream silk flower with some fine feathers coming out (see picture, above right). It was secured with a several Kirby grips. It worked perfectly and looked great with my dress. I bought mine from my local department store for £15. Accessories with a veil If you’re wearing a wedding veil, you need to be careful as you can easily go over the top. A little sparkle underneath your veil will be nice or perhaps a small wedding tiara. The best thing to do is try out different looks with your veil and decide which will work best for you. Make your own hair accessories One way to really lower your costs is to make your hairpiece yourself. Here are some ideas:
- Attach feathers of various sizes to a large hair pin or comb. Secure the feathers to the pin with superglue.
- Create your own sparkly hairpins and grips with beads, semi-precious gemstones or diamante.
- Use silk flowers and fix in your hair with grips or wire.
- Try fresh flowers too – but make sure you choose flowers that will last the duration of your day. Some flowers are prone to wilt easily, so check with your florist. Use light weight flowers and thread wire through the base of the flower, then attach them to your hair.
Be careful that you don't spend lots on practicing different looks though! For good, cheap wedding hair accessories, try Claire's accessories. They've also got cheap wedding tiaras too.
