Cheap Wedding Receptions At The TA Centre

Army catering is excellent!

My brother is in the Territorial Army and both he and my sister and one of their friends had their receptions at the TA centre. The fab thing about this was it was about £100, which basically paid the staff to open up and lock up and serve on the bar. The drinks were at the club prices so everyone was happy about that as well.

All three wedding receptions I went to there were on different budgets. The fanciest reception had completely dressed the venue and hired tables and chairs all at a fraction of the cost of a traditional venue. They had done a booze cruise for champagne and got charged £5 total for corkage - they would not have been charged at all if they had not asked how much!

The TA centre had its own kitchen as well so a slap up meal was prepared by the army staff (paid a few quid to them to give up their Saturday).

The other two weddings were on smaller budgets. One had a late wedding at the local church then had a buffet reception. The other had a smaller number of guests at a restaurant for a formal meal then had the evening reception and buffet at the TA centre for about 200 guests. The buffets were not like you get at a normal wedding where you only have a few items, the choice was amazing and was full of the usual stuff and more, including hot pot, lasagne and chilli and rice. Again, all provided at very low cost. Many people said it was the best wedding buffet they had ever had.

My sister also had the local college floristry dept (final year students) make all her bouquets at a fraction of the price-experience for them, cheaper for her!
