Great Value Venue On Surrey/Kent Border

We recently got married in the Grasshopper Inn in Moorhouse. The roomhire was free for us, as we took advantage of one of the promotions offered by the Grasshopper (online), but would have otherwise been £500 for the big room.

They have two rooms with a wedding license each, one smaller and one large one. We got married in the small one, then moved to the large one for dinner and dance afterwards. The large room also has its own bar area and a dancefloor.

The dinner was what was the best of it all and the staff of the Grasshopper were very flexible. Instead of having a set menu, we just let our guests pick their starter, main and dessert each from a shortlist we had chosen, and on average, the food came out at only £20 per person (3 courses)! And all guests said that the food was very good.

The staff were also very friendly, and nothing we asked for was not possible during the preparations for the wedding.

We paid for the drinks of our guests (made possible by the savings due to no room hire fee etc), and the only disadvantage was that when we paid the tab, we could not get a breakdown with the amounts consumed, and thus had to trust that the amounts charged were accurate.

Overall, though, a venue that is excellent value for money!

Just goes to show that an "inn" can be a great place for a cheap wedding reception. Good work Mel, sounds like you had a great time.

I've also just had a quick look at their website and the venue looks lovely. They've also got lots of good special offers including special rates for weddings in January through to April, and 50% off if you book your reception on a Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday. Even better!
