Informal Wedding Dress

I'm getting married in a registry office (although it is quite elegant) and having a reception which is quite relaxed with a hog roast. I really would like a dress which is pretty but not too big and more importantly not too expensive. Do you have any ideas? I'm located in Hampshire. .
