Pictures Of Wedding Centrepieces

Water bowl wedding centrepieces

Having a bowl of water with floating petals, flowers or candles is becoming more and more popular.

For my own wedding I had a large bowl shaped vase and floating peony head. The centrepiece worked out really cheap as we hired the vase for £1 and peony heads were only £1 each. They were striking and very pretty too.

For my sister’s wedding, she went with a similar idea, except she had floating candles and orchid flowers. The little candles gave a lovely subtle light as well. You could use a combination, just candles or just flower heads. See how they’ve done it in these pictures of wedding centrepieces:

Candles really add mood lighting at your wedding and make the reception feel very romantic. They’re also a great idea for wedding centrepieces. In the pictures of wedding centrepieces below, you can see how varied candles can look on wedding tables.

Whether you’re using just candles on a tray, with flower petals or small flower heads, or going for a full on candelabra, candles can be subtle and striking.

I really like how you can mix up your wedding favours and tea lights. See the picture below with candles wrapped up in tulle and finished with a gift tag. They perfectly match the tealights to make a pretty centrepiece.

Floral arrangements

Floral arrangements are always stunning and these wedding centrepiece pictures just show you how diverse flowers can be. You literally only need a bit of imagination and you can create anything!

Notice how candles are often at the centre of floral arrangements – this is quite traditional for a dinner setting.

Floral arrangements don’t have to use fresh flowers. You could use silk or paper flowers. Topiaries are becoming more and more popular as they’re easy to make yourself. I’ve seen them in Boots (yes, the chemist), garden centres and craft shops. They make a great wedding decoration, not just for your wedding tables.

Single flower arrangements can be stunning too

These pictures of wedding centrepieces are of single flower arrangements. From simple small vases to elaborate displays, you can make a statement with just one or two flowers. Don’t forget that when you’ve got all your crockery, cutlery, glasses, napkins, condiments, water and wine on the table, you may want to opt for something smaller!

Flowers in vases

A more simple way to create your wedding centrepieces is to have flowers arranged in a vase. You could easily do this yourself as well and they can prepared the day before.

Floral decorations in vases don’t have to be simple; you could get really fancy too. In the wedding centrepiece pictures below, there’s a good mixture. From simple arrangements where there’s only one or two flowers in a small vase to huge fancy displays!

If you’re wedding centrepieces are turning out expensive, then you could just take the wedding bouquets and place them in a vase or on the table during the reception. Who will know???

Plants as wedding centrepieces

You can always use a plant as your wedding centrepiece as well. Spring bulbs look great when they’re flowering especially tulips and mini daffodils. There’s also orchids, which I always think are stunning and amaryllis too. If the pots are unsightly, you could always wrap them in tissue paper, wedding tulle or paint with normal paints or metallic spray paints.
