Postable Wedding Cake Boxes

by Lynda Kyle
(Glasgow)

My mum would like to post pieces of our wedding cake to those guests who were invited to our wedding but can't make it, just like brides used to do in the olden days! I can find lots of cake boxes, but not the posting sort that mum keeps talking about. What would you suggest? And in this current climate is it safe to be posting cake?
Thanks
Lynda

Answer:

First of all, I think it's absolutely fine to be posting your wedding cake! And your guests that can't make it will certainly be pleased!

Shops that sell cake equipment will often sell cake boxes that can be posted. Sometimes the boxes will come with special posting sleeves to make them more robust, others are strong enough as they are.

A couple of online stores that sell wedding cake boxes that can be posted are are www.cakecraftshop.co.uk and www.suesworkshop.co.uk, otherwise you could try eBay or Hobbycraft. (Please note, I've not tried and tested these boxes)!

I hope that helps.
