"Save The Date" Fridge Magnets

Everybody loved the fridge magnets!

I got an idea off the internet (fridge magnet) for my 'save the date' cards, so I copied it. I got some blank fridge magnets quite cheaply and printed our own insert (very cute pictures of us as babies, with just the date and the words "save the date"). It was sooo easy to make! We only had to post some and sent them with second class stamps as it was so early (like a year ago now!)

It was definetely one of the cheapest things we made and one I am the proudest of. Everybody complemented us saying it was a very good idea (apparently, save-the-date fridge magnets are huge in the USA, but not that common in the UK) and I know of some people who may "steal" my idea for their own wedding!

Hiya,
I also have had the same idea about using fridge magnets as Save the dates. What I have done is find some magnetic paper (which sticks to fridges) and will print the Save The Date and design onto that - was only Ł8 for the paper - for 10 sheets. Am also thinking about putting a punch hole through them so people could also use it as a bookmark!

Hi,
To anonymous no. 1 from August.. If you notice, the word steal is in inverted commas. I wanted to signify something different to the OED definition of the word. However, english is not my first language and you must have misunderstood me. Maybe I should have said "copy" instead.

To anonymous no. 2 from October. There are quite a few websites online that sell these magnets.

How can you say that someone might "steal" your idea, when you copied it from the internet? So aren't you "stealing" the idea as well.. btw.. nice save the date.. I'll probably use "your" magnet idea for my wedding..

Thought these were agreat idea. Was going to buy pre-printed ones off the internet, until I saw how great yours were. I'm afraid I copied your idea, but with a different layout & design. everyone who's had one has told me what a great idea they were, so thank you for the idea and inspiration ;0)
