If you put some thought into them, you can make unique save the date announcements that are also very cheap. Here are just a few interesting ideas that you can use for your wedding.

Save the date magnets

Magnets have become a really popular way to do save the date announcements. They are lightweight, which means they're easy to post. Also, they give your guests a fun way to remember your wedding, and they can be personalised in many different ways.

Having magnets printed for a hundred announcements can be expensive. To save money, only print enough magnets for a few important guests or make your own save the date magnets. You can glue magnet strips to the back of announcements that you print on cardstock. If you have a good printer, you can do this entirely at home and spend next to nothing on your announcements.

Postcards are super simple

Save the date postcards are both cheap and simple. You can actually create quite an elaborate design on a post card and still have it printed for just a few pence. You can have these professionally designed, but designing them on your home computer will save you money. Just be sure that you print them off on a good colour printer so that they look professional.

Use a message in a bottle

You can buy small bottles online or at a craft store. Plastic bottles will be lighter and safer to post! Then, write out your save the date message on paper or print out your messages on your home printer. Roll up the messages, stick them in the bottles, and cork them up with pieces of authentic-looking cork. For an added exotic touch, you can put some sand and tiny seashells in the bottles with your message.

You can also design your e-postcards on your computer and send them as email attachments. Then, your guests can print them out if they want, or they can just put your wedding date on their calendars.
