Should I Use An iPod?

I want to use an iPod but my fiance thinks we should have a DJ. I know you used an iPod, did you just make playlists and let them run? Did people still get up and dance?

We're having a marquee in our garden with a hog roast so I want it all quite relaxed!? I don't want to spend too much!? I'd rather put it towards the mortgage!! Thank you.

We found using an iPod was great. We spent a few weeks preparing all the playlists - it took quite a while but it gave my husband-to-be something to do! The difficult part is putting the songs in the order you want. It took ages, but it was well worth it.

We had different types of music at different times during the day. So for drinks on the lawn after the ceremony we had classical tracks, then during dinner we had some easy listening (lots of crooners like Sinatra and other lounge music) and in the evening we had our favourite pop and classics.

And yes, everyone had a dance! We started the dancing with lots of old stuff so our parents and their friends would have a dance - so Beatles, Rod Stewart and a bit of the Clash, then we moved onto more modern stuff.

Using an iPod for your wedding is really flexible. You can choose the exact songs you want and so there's no risk of 'Come on, Eileen!' or other cheesy tracks.

The best thing is it's really cheap. We mostly used our own music so we only had to buy a few extra tracks we really wanted. Then all you need are some speakers wired up to an amp or a laptop.
