Wedding Blessing

by Chel
(Manchester)

We are getting married in Bermuda by a Minster in Aug 2010 and have planned to have a church blessing when we return (as no friends or family will be travelling to Bermuda with us). We are also having our daughter christened after the blessing.

Does anybody know what usually happens at a blessing/any etiquette that should be followed? I wanted to wear my wedding dress again. Would this be acceptable?

Answer:

It sounds like it will be a wonderful day to have your church blessing and your daughter’s christening all on the same day.

I would recommend talking to the church in which both will take place to see what the order of service will be and what is expected of you.

I would imagine that wearing your wedding dress would be appropriate but the church would be able to tell you for sure. There are rules depending on your religion so contacting them to get the proper details would be best.
