Engagement and Wedding Ring Sets

When it comes to buying your rings, it’s important you keep to your budget. Wedding ring sets are a great way to keep your costs down making prefect financial sense.

Rings that work together
Wedding ring setSometimes the two rings have been specifically designed to sit with each other, fitting together like a jigsaw puzzle. For example the stone of the engagement ring sits in a shaped section of the wedding ring. This creates a unique look, but also means that you can’t wear the rings alone.

Other sets are designed so that the two rings fit together neatly, but can also be worn apart. Personally I think this is better as sometimes you don’t always want to wear your engagement ring, for instance, when you're washing up.

Bespoke designs
It’s also becoming more and more popular to have custom made ring sets. These are often very clever, intriguing and beautifully designed. With that though comes a higher price tag – and be careful not to choose something that may go out of fashion quickly.

His and hers sets
Matching wedding rings between the bride and groom are steeped in tradition and go back a long way. Having matching metals, styles and designs are often common and show the unique bond that exists between you.

Three ring sets
You can also get three ring sets that include an eternity ring. Usually an eternity ring is given after the first child or for a wedding anniversary. My mum had to wait until her 60th birthday before she got hers!

Better prices for sets
When you buy wedding ring sets, you’re likely to get a better price than buying individual rings. This is simply because you’re buying more, so jewellers can offer you a bigger discount. And if you buy the groom's ring at the same time, you’ll have even better bargaining power. Of course, this only works when you’re in the shop, so save your negotiating for the real world!
