Wedding Venue In Sheffield - URGENTLY NEEDED!

After a year of planning, my wedding venue has just gone bust, with just 4 weeks until the big day! I'm struggling to find anywhere as it's so close to Christmas and those I do find are either too expensive (we're on a very tight budget) or really grotty and small!

I'm heartbroken, I'm tempted to cancel everything but we'll lose more money than I can afford, plus I don't think I'd ever have the heart to try and organise everything again.

We're in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, please give us your ideas.

Answer:

My heart goes out to you!! That really is terrible. I'm not that familiar with Sheffield, so I can't recommend anywhere in particular.

Something you might want to consider is a restaurant or a bar which you could hire out, then you don't have to worry about the food and the setting will be quite nice. If things aren't quite on budget, then I'm sure your guests won't mind chipping in - I'm sure they'll understand!

You could also consider village halls, town halls, community centres, sports clubs, social clubs or arts centres.

Best of all, with the late notice, you should be able to find loads of late deals from the hotels. With the timing, you could actually try and negotiate them down further!

Give me a call on 0114 2692537. I run the old Rectory a grade two stone building in quiet grounds in Handsworth Sheffield.

The Old rectory can hold any thing from 5 to 150 people. We have some December availability.

The main hall can be as cheap as £135 for the night or the whole building ( 5 rooms, carparks, lawns etc) is just £500 for the whole day.

We are fully licensed for the bar and you can have our catering or your own.

Hi Leila, I am so sorry to hear about your disapointment with your choosen wedding venue. I am also from Sheffield but I work at a hotel in Buxton, Derbyshire. We have some availability for functions during December. Hi

Why don't you try a little further afield? I'm from Barnsley originally but live in Leeds. For my big day I'm coming to Brooklands Hotel in Dodworth Barnsley. It's stright off the motorway and I'm in love with the place. It's the cheapest I've found and simply gorgeous - have a look.

What about Whirlow Grange? (www.whirlowgrange.co.uk). Nice building and grounds. Not sure about costs, but doesn't look really expensive.

You could try the Hillsborough Sports Arena - www.hillsboroughsportsarena.co.uk. It's a new-ish building and does functions, but you'd probably need quite a bit of decoration to make it look stunning!

My friend is getting married in a really cute village hall in Low Bradfield, S6. It's pretty much brand new and is in a lovely setting, only a few miles from Sheffield. Worth a look.

I found Ringwood Hall in Chesterfield (not quite Sheffield, but near enough). It's lovely and they do late deals for £3950 (inc VAT) for 60 guests in the day and then 100 at night. That's quite a bargain, but not sure if it's within your budget...
