Recommended by Zoe: "Canon Hall is one of the most usual wedding venues in South Yorkshire, based at my favourite park, Cawthorne Park. It is a museum run by the council & has a beautiful pond with a gothic stone arch where I have always dreamt of having my wedding photos taken. At the age of 41, having persuaded my partner to finally get wed after 8 yrs I think I deserve it! He doesn't like weddings but after viewing the venue he is quite looking forward to it now! Especially since we will be holding the civil ceremony in the ballroom with oak timber panels - which delights my husband who is a joiner! We have access to the whole park & will love playing boules with the kids & olds after the buffet!"

The main hall can be as cheap as £135 for the night or the whole building (5 rooms, carparks, lawns etc) is just £500 for the whole day. They also have a fully licensed bar and you can have their catering or your own. Plus they have good discounts for those willing to get married on a Friday."
