It has also recently been refurbished so looks quite nice, but it really is a blank canvas so you can make it look as special as you want. You just have to be creative!"

Recommended by Kelly: "When you hire this wedding venue in Ipswich you get the use of the whole complex which includes a separate room and plenty of outside space, as well as a Large Main Hall which is able to to accommodate 120 seated guests for a dinner style event. It has a separate large fully licensed bar, supplied and staffed. There is a stage with theatre style lighting and premium sound system. A separate professional style kitchen - for your own or outside caterers use. Plus they have furniture that you can use (Tables and chairs) and a large car park. The hire for all this for a full day at the weekend it is only £600."

The cost of the venue, arrival drinks, sit down meal, evening buffet & overnight accommodation is an absolute bargain at £999. I thought it sounded too good to be true but to my surprise the deal was exactly what it said. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the location perfect. My partner and I will be paying for the wedding ourselves so we are over the moon to find an excellent local venue at an affordable price!"

Recommended by Emma: "This budget wedding venue in Ipswich is where I am having my reception. It is a small building with a bar in the middle of the biggest park in Ipswich. In the park there is a huge mansion and equally as impressive duck pond and fishing lakes. The building overlooks the main mansion and all of its grounds are open to the public and provide great photo opportunities. The club will let you use as much of their outdoor space as you require (basically the entire park!) We are having a marquee and bouncy castle. The best bit is that if you have full capacity (60-70) it is totally free to hire! Any less and they simply ask a donation of £50. I don't know any other wedding venues in Suffolk where you can have a beautiful park wedding next to a mansion for free...amazing!"

Recommended by Emma: "The Ski Lodge is a great place for a cheap wedding. The wedding price is £25 a head however; they were really understanding and offered me the same service for £7 a head as they knew I was on a budget. The only difference being we wouldn't have the entire restaurant to ourselves, just a part of it. They quoted me just £218 for a 3 course meal for 24 people and a private tobogganing session for 12 on one of their dry slopes. Not only that, but they were really honest, and don't charge any cake-cutting fees etc. Plus it's a really beautiful building. I was looking at it for my winter wedding as it's in a large wooden lodge, and being a ski centre, every winter the lodge gets covered in fake snow and thousands of white fairy lights. The food looks exquisite, the venue looks amazing and the price tops it off perfectly! One of the best and most unusual wedding venues in Suffolk that I have seen."

When hiring the main hall for events on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon/evening a fully staffed bar is available (at no extra charge). Bar prices are very competitive. They set up the main hall for your event with stage (if required), tables and chairs leaving you to just decorate the tables with cloths/table decorations etc...and the hall with balloons and banners etc...if you want. This saves you valuable hiring time. At the end of your party/event they just ask you to remove your decorations and bag up any leftover food, they then clean and put away the furniture and clean the Hall after your event for you as part of the hire."
