What Is The Staff Ratio To Guests For A 3 Course Meal?

by Celia Brigs
(Herefordshire)

How many staff are required for a wedding, catering for a three course meal for 150 guests?

Answer:

The general ratio is one server for every 20 guests for a sit-down dinner. For 150 guests, I would recommend having 8-10 servers.

Some people suggest 1 server for every 10-12 guests which would mean 1 server for each table, or 15 in total.

If your budget allows for this, then go with 1 per 10-12 guests but if you are interested in keeping costs down, I think you’ll be safe with 8-10 servers. Keep in mind that this number does not include bar staff.
