When Can I Put Fondant Icing On?

I am renewing my wedding vows on 3rd April. Can I bake my cake on the 1st April and then ice it that same night, then put my fondant on in the early morning of the wedding?

As long as your cake is not refrigerated, you will be able to put the fondant on the early morning of the wedding.

If you refrigerate the cake, make sure you get it to room temperature before applying the fondant.

Do not refrigerate the cake once the fondant is on, this could cause condensation and make the cake “sweat”.
