Where To Hire Champagne Glasses?

We're having our reception in a small village hall and although they have all the basic essentials like plates, knives, forks and tumblers they understandably don't provide champagne glasses! I was unsure whether to buy the cheap plastic ones or hire glass flutes. I am struggling to find anywhere I can hire them from. Someone mentioned Sainsburys but there is no information on their website. Any ideas?

Generally it is much nicer to drink wine and champagne from glasses, so I would always favour hiring the real thing over using plastic ones.

There are a number of places that will hire glasses and if you buy the alcohol from them too you should get the glasses for free.

Firstly supermarkets usually hire glasses. Go into your local supermarket in person and ask a representative in the wines and spirits isle.

Secondly try your local off licence, try and pick a national chain though as they are big enough to offer this service. We brought our alcohol from Majestic Wine on a booze cruise in France and our local Majestic still allowed us to use their glasses for free. After all when you have spent many hundreds of pounds with them it is the least they can do.

Thirdly, try an event hire company; these companies hire everything tables, chairs, linens and glasses.

Lastly, do investigate purchasing glass flutes yourself online. Hire companies will often charge 50p-£1 per glass. For our sons christening party we brought 50 champagne and 50 wine glasses online. They were only £1 each and no worst than those hire companies use, now we have these glasses for future family parties.

If you need a lot for your wedding, you could always share the glasses with another friend or family member who would also like a stock of glasses for family gatherings.
