White Gold Wedding Ring?

Not sure whether to go for a white gold wedding ring or platinum? Platinum seems really expensive - is it really worth it?
Answer:
Both white gold and platinum have a white or silver look to them and both are often used as wedding rings. Platinum however is rarer and as such commands a higher price. It's also more durable and hardwearing, which means that it's likely to last through generations.
White gold is actually dipped gold and over time the white plating wears off requiring the ring to be dipped again. This actually isn't too much of a bad thing as it encourages you to look after your rings and get them coated and polished regularly.
White gold is often priced at around the same price as normal gold, so the only additional cost is getting it dipped every few years. A good jeweller may even do this as part of their aftercare service.
